Beginning in December of 2020, after almost a year in quarantine and reflecting on life, I came to the realization that it was time to make some changes in my life. As a married mom of 4, I often, like most moms, put everyone else’s needs ahead of my own. I made every excuse for eating poorly, not exercising, and really neglecting to be accountable for my own health. It was about this same time that I joined Alex’s SPICE Facebook page. As I learned about her journey to health and wellness and tuned into her Facebook lives, watched video posts, read articles, and much more, I started to implement some of her suggestions in my life. Hearing her story about how and why she made changes in her life, gave me the courage, hope, and inspiration to take the steps to better health and wellness. Whether it’s block scheduling, tips for healthier grocery shopping, adding supplements, carving out that time for self, spending quality family time, exercise routines, or having a vent session on Zoom, her SPICE program can help anyone who wants to improve their health and wellness. She will meet you where you are, and give you advice and recommendations on how you can achieve a healthier lifestyle. She does this with compassion, energy, and realism. Since adding SPICE to my life, I can say that this is the most consistent I have ever been in terms of healthy eating, exercising, and getting myself together. Since December, I have lost a total of 23 pounds and continue to challenge myself to stick to my plan of healthy living as I continue to draw inspiration from Alex and many of the other members of the SPICE platform.
